Esther McVey is a British politician and television presenter serving as Minister of State without Portfolio in the Cabinet Office since November 2023.
A member of the Conservative Party, she has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tatton since 2017.
She previously served in the Cabinet as Minister of State for Housing and Planning from 2019 to 2020 and as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from January to November 2018.

Esther McVey is 56 years old as of 2023. She was born on October 24, 1967 and almost immediately put into a Barnardo’s foster home by her young parents who didn’t have the money to look after her.
She stayed in the charity’s care for the first two years of her life, before returning to her parents.

However, while waitressing in a showbiz restaurant in London she decided she wanted to be a TV presenter instead.
In the course of her media career she worked on a range of programmes, including a documentary about naturists on Channel 5, the religious Heaven and Earth Show on BBC One and ITV’s breakfast show GMTV.
In the early 2000s she began pursuing a career in politics and in 2010 won the Merseyside seat of Wirral West for the Conservatives.

In an interview with the Mail last night Miss McVey, revealed how she had been put into foster care as a baby after she was born to young parents. Her father Jimmy was 22, while her mother Barbara was only 18.
The former TV presenter said that after a couple of years in foster care she returned to her family in the Liverpool suburb of West Derby.
Miss McVey said: ‘I believe most people in their life will fall upon tough times at some point. I want to give the message that anyone can succeed given the opportunity.’
