Kumchacha Slams Sports Ministry Over $3M All African Games Controversy (Video)

Nicholas Osei, famed as Kumchacha has criticized the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its handling of $3 million meant for the 13th All African Games hosted in Ghana.

In a video posted by Trends GH TV on YouTube, the founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries condemned the ministry for its lack of accountability and labeled the officials involved as “thieves.”

Kumchacha expressed frustration with the ministry’s failure to account for the $3 million reportedly spent on broadcasting the games.

He argued that the expenditure could not be justified and highlighted the need for divine intervention to tackle corruption.

Kumchacha pointed out that misused state funds have led to issues like poor road conditions, lack of street lights, and the suffering of the youth.

In the video, Kumchacha, speaking in Twi, said, “How can the sports ministry spend over $3 million on broadcasting issues, and we are still struggling to understand how it was spent? It’s time for God to deal with such corrupt people. Our leaders always look well-dressed and presentable, but they are criminals and thieves causing us pain through their corruption. When a pastor speaks out about corruption, some people tell us to stick to preaching. But we must address the corruption in our system.”

Background on the Issue

The controversy erupted after the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, stated that his ministry had paid more than $3 million to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for broadcasting the African Games.

This statement was contested by Professor Amin Alhassan, the Director-General of GBC, who denied receiving such a large sum. According to Alhassan, the GBC only received $105,000 from the event.
