A teacher from St. Peters Preparatory School in Anwiam, Ashanti Region, is celebrating his vindication after a DNA test proved he was not the father of a student’s child.
The teacher, Eric Dwamena, faced accusations that he had fathered a child with one of his students, leading to significant controversy.
The situation began when the grandmother of a young girl claimed that her granddaughter, who had recently returned home from school, was pregnant.

According to her account shared on the ‘Auntie Naa Relationship Court’ on Oyerepa FM, the girl told her that Eric Dwamena was responsible for her pregnancy after allegedly abusing her.
The grandmother recounted, “In August, my granddaughter went to school and something happened to her. She didn’t tell me right away, but by January, I noticed she was showing signs of pregnancy. She cried and told me that if she was pregnant, Eric Dwamena was the one responsible. I then contacted his parents.”
The case was reported to the police, leading to Dwamena’s arrest. However, the case was later withdrawn as both families agreed to an out-of-court settlement. During these negotiations, the girl’s family demanded GH₵20,000 in compensation from Dwamena, who steadfastly denied the accusations.
After the girl gave birth, her family took their demands to the Auntie Naa show on Oyerepa FM, urging Dwamena to provide support for the child and the young mother. Despite these demands, Dwamena maintained his innocence, stating, “I have never slept with her. Her claims are false.”
To resolve the matter, the show arranged for a DNA test, which confirmed that Dwamena was not the father of the child. The test results provided clear evidence that he had not fathered the child, vindicating him from the accusations.
In a show of support, local market women came together and visited the radio station to celebrate and back Dwamena. They praised him for standing up against the false claims and showed their solidarity with him. Their support highlighted the community’s respect for Dwamena and their belief in his innocence.
