Hamish Harding is a British businessman, pilot, explorer, and space tourist based in the United Arab Emirates.
He is the founder of Action Group and chairman of Action Aviation, an international aircraft brokerage company with headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Hamish Harding (born 24 June 1964) grew up in Hong Kong with his parents but currently resides in the United Arab Emirates.
Harding studied at Cambridge University, receiving degrees in natural sciences and chemical engineering, per Nasa Space Flight.
While studying at Cambridge University, Harding told Business Aviation Magazine, he received his private pilot’s license in 1985. He added that in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, he “transitioned from piloting light aircraft to piloting jets.”
Since 2004, Harding has been a chairman for Action Aviation, a global sales company that “offers a wide range of services including aircraft brokerage, aircraft management and aircraft financing,” per their website.
Harding has been on several explorations over the years, including visiting the South Pole several times (once with Buzz Aldrin) and going to space as part of the suborbital Blue Origin NS-21 mission in June 2022.

He posted about the OceanGate submarine’s disappearance after the news broke, asking for people to pray for his stepfather.
He said on Facebook: “Thoughts and prayers for my stepfather Hamish Harding as his submarine has gone missing exploring Titanic.
“Search and rescue mission is underway.
“Thoughts and prayers for my mom and Hamish Harding.”
He later wrote: “For privacy, my mom asked me to delete all related posts thanks for the support.”
What happened to Hamish Harding?
Harding was one of five people to be reported missing on June 19, 2023 after a submarine visiting the wreckage of the RMS Titanic in the North Atlantic Ocean vanished.
The Titanic sank on its maiden voyage to New York on April 14, 1912, after hitting an iceberg.
It has been seen as one of history’s major nautical disasters ever since, and was the subject of the 1998 film starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio,
French submersible pilot Paul-Henry Nargeolet, chief executive and founder of OceanGate Expeditions, Stockton Rush, Pakistani millionaire Shahzada Dawood, and his son Sulaiman, are all feared missing alongside Harding.
OceanGate Expeditions – the company that charters submarine trips to explore the debris of the Titanic – said in a statement: “Our entire focus is on the crew members in the submersible and their families.
“We are deeply thankful for the extensive assistance we have received from several government agencies and deep sea companies in our efforts to reestablish contact with the submersible.”
Experts fear the submarine could be tangled in the debris of the Titanic.
Harding had excitedly posted to social media about going on the expedition the day before but also spoke to his friend out about poor weather conditions just hours before the vessel vanished.
Nasa astronaut Terry Virts spoke about his friend Harding on Good Morning Britain, revealing that Harding had texted him hours before he went missing.
In the text, Harding confirming the mission was going ahead despite fears over bad weather conditions.
Virts added said that seasoned explorer Harding “understood the risks” involved with the dive.
