Ghanaian boxer Ayittey Powers has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Prophet TB Joshua, the leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Nigeria.
In an emotional interview with Giovani Caleb on TV3, Ayittey Powers opened up about the deep impact TB Joshua had on his life and why his passing has been more painful than the loss of his own parents.
Powers explained that he had a close relationship with the prophet, often seeking his guidance on various personal issues.

“I was very close to TB Joshua,” Powers said. “He had invited me to visit his church, and I had planned to go in two weeks. But he passed away before I could make the trip. It’s incredibly painful to think about. Sometimes, when I reflect on his death, I see that God works in mysterious ways. How could someone like TB Joshua, who had so much wisdom and influence, die at such a young age?”
Powers revealed that TB Joshua had made comments about not celebrating his upcoming birthday, which was taken as a sign that he was aware of his own mortality, although his death was still unexpected.
“He mentioned he wouldn’t celebrate his birthday, and we didn’t know he was going to die. We discussed many things together, and his guidance was invaluable to me,” Powers said. “His death has created a significant void in my life.”
