Rocky Mount police are investigating a fight between a teacher named Xaviera Steele and a student.
Police said the assault happened at Rocky Mount High School this morning. Police said no injuries were reported and they are actively investigating what happened.

Rocky Mount High School teacher fight video:
A video claiming to be a fight between a teacher and student at Rocky Mount High School has been posted on social media.
It shows a student confronting a teacher with the two ending up in a fight on the floor of the classroom.
The student can be heard asking Steele, “Why does the rules not apply to everybody else. That’s my phone.” Steele then adds, “it does apply to everybody.”

The unidentified student then tries to take the device from the teacher’s grasp. The latter then declares, “Don’t touch me.”
The two then engage in a violent altercation, swinging at each other. The Rocky Mount teacher may be seen on top of the pupil at the end of the viral video.
The video in question received more than 3.5 million views online at the time this article was being written.
Many people found it hard to comprehend that the teacher chose to physically combat the student rather than finding a peaceful solution to the issue.
