The incident, which occurred on Monday morning, involved a juvenile student and Xaviera Steele, the substitute teacher, who got into a heated argument over the confiscation of a cell phone during the break between the first period and the Connections Intervention period.

The argument quickly escalated, and a video circulating online showed the student attempting to grab the phone from Steele’s hand before the altercation turned physical.
The incident has since been investigated by police and the school system, with no charges filed at this time.
