He has won the AVCTL MVP award thrice. He participated in the Kansas vs. Missouri All-Star Game as well as the KBCA All-Star Game, winning all-state recognition from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.
He represented Next Level Hoops School in AAU competition, where he won Kansas Male Athlete of the Year. He was the MVP of the Kansas Shrine Bowl and passed for more than 3,000 yards as a quarterback. He jumped 6-8 to win the Class 5A state championship.
