According to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office, the 42-year-old Galesburg woman, Amanda Matuszyk, was involved in a vehicle crash at around 6:38 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023, involving a semi-trailer truck and a passenger vehicle.
Following the crash, the driver of the car was unresponsive and not breathing upon EMS arrival. She was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria in a serious condition, but sadly, she was pronounced deceased. The cause of her death was the multiple blunt-force trauma injuries she suffered in the crash.
The announcement of the identification of Amanda as the victim of the motor vehicle collision on I-74 was made by the Peoria County Coroner’s Office through a post on their official Facebook page.
