The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court will, on April 21, rule on application for bail pending appeal filed by lawyers of Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo.
On Wednesday, April 14, Poloo was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court after she pleaded guilty to the charges of publishing obscene material with two counts of domestic violence over posting a nude photo of her son in 2020.
She was sentenced to three months in jail for those charges on Friday, April 16.

Before handing the sentence, Christina Cann, the judge of the Accra Circuit Court that handled the case highlighted her worry about the proliferation of nude photos and video on social media.
She expressed hope that the sentence of Poloo will serve as a deterrent to people who engaged in such activities.
The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court is expected to hear the bail application on Wednesday, April 21.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaian celebrities have petitioned President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to grant Akuapem Poloo pardon.
The petition on Change.org, a popular petition website used to solicit support for campaigns, has been created under the name Ghana’s Creative Industry with some Ghanaian celebrities and socialites sharing the links for their fans to sign it online.
It has has gathered over 28,000 signatures.
