Number plate of Nana Aba Anamoah’s Range Rover is fake – DVLA drops details

The Drivers and Vehicle License Authority (DVLA) has issued a disclaimer saying the number plate on the Range Rover belonging to Nana Aba Anamoah is fake.

Their comment comes days after some Ghanaians decided to check the validity of Nana Aba’s license plate number GR 2050 – 20 and in extension, if the vehicle truly belonged to her via the shortcode *920*57#.

The number on the license plate turned out to be a registered to another vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, not the journalist’s Range Rover.

On Monday June 22, a photo of a Nissan Rogue with the number plate popped up online which prompted a response from the DVLA.

According to DVLA, checks conducted show that the GR 2050-20 number is indeed registered to the Nissan Rogue vehicle.

Mr Prince Opoku Edusei, Deputy Chief Executive of DVLA says the number plate on the black Range Rover was not authorised by his outfit.

Speaking in an interview, to clarify the issue of duplicated number plates in the country, he said; “They say in every situation there’s only the truth and the lie. There’s no way DVLA will register two vehicles with the same number. We’ve conducted our own investigations and realised that the vehicle that bears that number, one of them which is the black Range Rover is not a registered vehicle in this country.

So the number on the vehicle is not authorised or issued by the DVLA. The rogue is in our system and duly registered and so that is the number that has been assigned. So obviously the range rover is not registered. We don’t have such in our system.”

He went on to add that, the issue has been handed to the Ghana Police Service to begin investigations to bring to book all culprits behind it.

The Deputy DVLA boss, therefore, advised the ace broadcast journalist to visit their office to register the vehicle or face legal actions.
