Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has fired back at DopeNation after they mocked him on social media.
The back-and-forth between the two acts kicked off when DopeNation, who left Lynx Entertainment in 2020, posted a cheeky comment about Kuami Eugene’s remarks regarding the label.
In a recent interview, Kuami Eugene expressed relief when DopeNation left Lynx Entertainment, which sparked the duo’s playful jab.
They mocked the “Rockstar” for potentially falling victim to what they called the “Lynx curse“—the idea that artists who leave the label struggle to maintain their careers.
Well, Kuami Eugene wasn’t having any of it. The “Angela” singer quickly responded on X (formerly Twitter) with a scathing message.
But, of course, Kuami Eugene wasn’t about to let that slide. In true “Rockstar” fashion, he fired back on X (formerly Twitter) with a response that was as spicy as ever.
He made it clear he wasn’t going to waste his time on DopeNation’s antics and straight-up called them out for trying to get attention.
But here’s where it gets juicy—he also threw in a little burn, saying that DopeNation was probably just gearing up to drop “another gym song.”
Not stopping there, Kuami Eugene dropped the ultimate mic drop: He’s about to release a classic song on his birthday this Saturday, promising his fans a track that’s all about quality music (no gym songs here, folks).
He posted: “Anyone looking for attention to drop another gym song should wait. I’m dropping a classic on my Birthday come Saturday for quality music listeners, and then I will make some time, ok? 🥳 #ladiesandgentlemen #OdoAsem.”
