Max Holloway is a professional mixed martial artist from the United States, currently competing in the Featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Holloway’s parents were heavy drug users, and his father, Mark Holloway, was abusive towards his mother, Missy Kapoi. His mother was a crystal meth consumer who later recovered from drug addiction.
When Max was around 11 years old, his father left the family, leaving Holloway to take care of his younger siblings while his mother worked multiple jobs to make ends meet.
Growing up, Holloway often found himself getting into fights to protect his family, which eventually led him to train in martial arts.
At the end of his sophomore year of high school, aged 15, Holloway started training kickboxing with Team Ruthless. Despite having only three days of training, he won his first amateur bout in the sport. He went on to graduate from Waianae High School in 2010.
Max Holloway turned professional in 2010 and made his UFC debut in 2012. He quickly gained a reputation as a skilled fighter, and in 2017, he became the UFC Featherweight Champion after defeating José Aldo. He successfully defended his title three times before losing it to Alexander Volkanovski in 2019.
As of April 14th, 2023, Holloway is ranked #2 in the UFC featherweight rankings and #15 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. He has a professional record of 23 wins and 6 losses, with 10 wins by knockout and 2 by submission.
