Kara Tointon is an English actress known for her roles in EastEnders and The Sound of Music Live.
Kara Louise Tointon was born on August 5, 1983, to parents Ken and Carol Tointon. She grew up in Leigh-on-Sea with her sister Hannah.
Tointon was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age but pursued acting and dancing. She joined EastEnders in 2005 and played the character Dawn Swann for four years.
In 2010, she won Strictly Come Dancing and later appeared in The Bill.
