Ghanaian gospel artist Broda Sammy has stirred controversy by challenging fellow gospel singer Ohemaa Mercy’s claim that God approved her decision to divorce her husband, Isaac Twum-Ampofo.
The drama unfolded after Ohemaa Mercy spilled the tea in a recent interview, revealing that she had received divine confirmation to end her marriage.
In her interview, Ohemaa Mercy shared that during the pandemic lockdown, she went all-in on prayer, hoping for a sign from above about her struggling marriage.

After months of spiritual soul-searching, she felt that God was telling her it was time to call it quits.
According to her, this divine nod gave her the strength to go ahead with the divorce, a move she described as both necessary and blessed.
Enter Broda Sammy, who’s not buying it. On the lively show United Showbiz, Sammy took the stage to challenge Ohemaa Mercy’s divine approval.
He argued that, according to the Bible, God is pretty against divorce unless it’s for major reasons like abuse or cheating.
Since Ohemaa Mercy hasn’t mentioned anything like that, Sammy’s questioning whether her divine approval is on solid ground.
