Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Food and Agriculture and MP for Abetifi, has made a definitive statement about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strategy for the 2024 general elections.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Nsawam, Acheampong expressed his confidence that the NPP will secure victory and retain power, asserting that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not succeed in the upcoming polls.
At the rally, Acheampong highlighted the NPP’s preparedness and the strength of its team, emphasizing that they are ready to use every strategy necessary to ensure a win on December 7, 2024. “Whether the NDC likes it or not, they will not win the 2024 elections. They won’t win. The New Patriotic Party is here to win elections,” he declared.

Acheampong also mentioned that the NPP would seek support from various members of the party, including pastors, imams, and traditional priests, to help achieve their goal. His comments reflected a determined attitude towards the election and the party’s confidence in its chances of success.
Addressing potential critics of his remarks, Acheampong was unapologetic: “If you don’t understand, go and burn the sea. We will win the elections and continue the good works of the NPP.”
This is not the first time Acheampong has made bold statements about the upcoming election. In March 2024, he voiced similar sentiments during a meeting with party supporters in Mpraeso.

Acheampong’s comments align with recent statements from other NPP leaders, including President Akufo-Addo. Akufo-Addo has vowed not to hand over power to John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, whom he defeated in the 2016 and 2020 elections.
“I can’t hand over to someone I defeated twice and who is not happy with everything I do; he will destroy the work that I have done,” Akufo-Addo is quoted as having said while addressing supporters at a mini rally in Dobro in the Greater Accra Region.
