Police in Sherwood are asking the public to avoid the area around CHI St. Vincent hospital as they are investigating an incident in the area.
A massive police presence swarmed CHI St. Vincent North hospital in Sherwood, Arkansas, shortly after 11am on Wednesday

The Sherwood Police Department confirmed on Facebook that there is an active shooter situation at the medical facility.
“We can confirm an active shooter at SVI. No other information will be released at this time,” SPD said.
A witness, whose father was receiving treatment at the facility, told KARK 4 News that he was ordered to shelter in the bathroom after they announced “active shooter” over the intercom.

Footage from the scene showed staff and patients evacuated from the facility.
Special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives New Orleans base are also responding to the scene.
Police have yet to report any injuries.
SPD has asked pedestrians and motorists to avoid the area.
