Social media rants over the price of nearly released Gucci shoelace

A middle-aged man caused a roar on social media after he shared a photo of a Gucci product that was recently released.
The new product is a black shoelace which reportedly cost 6500 dollars, approximately GHC 31,000.
The man, simply identified as Blake, who is believed to be a Nigerian shared the photo and price of the black shoelace in naira.

Many Nigerian Twitter users found the price ridiculous, expressing that a shoelace shouldn’t be that expensive.

Some users even joked about the fact that the amount of money could be used to buy a plot of land while other noted that the cheaper replica of the shoelace would soon start selling in Nigerian markets.
