The Imo state police command have arrested a 23-year-old lady, Chinonye Oparaocha, alongside other suspects for allegedly selling her six hours old baby boy for N850,000, shortly after delivery at a hospital along Nekede road in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state.
This woman was a 23-year-old nurse. Together with her husband, Amaeze Anyanwu, Confidence plotted with Chinonye on how to sell off the young baby.

It was alleged that Amaeze who is now nowhere to be found carried the 6-hour-old baby to Port-Harcourt, Rivers.
Here, a certain person named Duru Christian was waiting for him. As soon as Amaeze arrived, Dur met with him alongside another individual named George Iyowuna.

Then, they collected the boy from Amaeze and gave him over to a buyer who, in this case, was Mrs. William Cynthia and her husband. This couple got around to paying the sum of N850, 000.
It was said that this deed came to the open on April, 13 when operatives of the Scorpion Squad arrested nearly all the suspects involved in the case.
Also, they were able to recover the baby boy who has already been named Abiya William. It has been said that efforts are ongoing to arrest the other members involved in selling off the child.
