In the 2012–13 season, he played for the under-18 team almost constantly. On February 24, 2015, in Huddersfield’s 3-0 victory over Reading, he made his first-team debut as a late substitution.
He made two appearances for Kidderminster Harriers after signing a loan agreement with them on March 26, 2015, for the remainder of the season. He signed a two-month loan with Macclesfield Town on August 5, 2015.
Boyle joined York City of League Two on November 18, 2015, for a youth loan that lasted until January 3, 2016. He started for York in their 3-2 away loss against Leyton Orient on November 21, 2015, and failed to handle the physicality of Leyton Orient’s scorer Ollie Palmer.
He and Dave Winfield formed a centre-back partnership, and in January 2016, Boyle returned to Huddersfield despite York wanting to prolong his loan. Boyle and fellow Huddersfield player Flo Bojaj signed a six-month loan agreement with Scottish Premiership team Kilmarnock in June 2016. On July 16, 2016, he made his debut and scored as Kilmarnock defeated Clyde 2-1 in the Scottish League Cup.
He had given up a penalty earlier, but Kilmarnock goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald had turned it away. In January 2017, Boyle returned to Huddersfield after 14 games and 1 goal for Kilmarnock.
