Tin Pei Ling Husband: Meet Ng How Yue: Tin Pei Ling is a Singaporean politician and businesswoman born on December 23, 1983, in Singapore.
She attended Crescent Girls’ School and Hwa Chong Junior College before enrolling at the National University of Singapore where she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree with honors in psychology.
Tin Pei Ling also has Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Before entering mainstream politics, she was a senior associate at Ernst & Young.
As a member of the People’s Action Party (PAP), she made her political debut in the 2011 general election. She resigned from her position at Ernst & Young after winning the 2011 general election as a Member of Parliament.
Ling was part of a five-member PAP team led by Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and was the People’s Action Party’s youngest candidate during the 2011 general election.
Tin Pei Ling has been the Member of Parliament representing MacPherson SMC since 2015 and was previously the MacPherson division of Marine Parade GRC between 2011 and 2015.
She won the 2015 general election and defended her parliamentary seat in 2020, taking over 70% of the vote. Ling was later appointed as Chair of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Communications and Information in the 14th Parliament.
In January 2023, Tin Pei Ling made major headlines when she joined ride-hailing and technology giant ‘Grab’ as its Singapore director of public affairs and policy. When asked about her new job, she directed queries to her new employer.
‘Grab’ in a statement said: “Pei Ling has deep on-ground understanding of digital economy and Smart Nation policy, and close ties with the local community .She will build partnerships and programmes to harness the positive potential of technology to create impact in Singapore.”
Prior to joining Grab, Pei Ling was chief executive of Business China, a non-profit organization spearheaded by the Singapore Government and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
She left on December 2, 2022, after spending four-and-a-half years in the role, citing a desire to pursue interests in the private sector. The three-term MP remains part of Business China’s board of directors.

Tin Pei Ling is married to Ng How Yue. He was appointed Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Law in December 2014 and as Second Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Health on January 1, 2017.
Prior to that, Ng How Yue was the Second Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Trade & Industry in October 2011.
