The trial of alleged ‘killer clown’ Sheila Keen-Warren has been delayed once again as the defense gets their hands on a mysterious file of ‘credible sightings’ around the time of the murder.
Keen-Warren is accused of killing Marlene Warren (pictured) while dressed up as a clown.
Sheila Keen-Warren is set to stand trial for allegedly gunning down Marlene Warren in 1990 while wearing white face paint, a red nose, and an orange wig.
Keen-Warren allegedly traveled to Marlene’s South Florida home and handed her balloons and flowers before shooting her in the face.
Marlene’s son Joey remembered his mom saying “how pretty” before watching in horror as the clown raised a gun and fired a single shot at point-blank range.
The 40-year-old died two days later.

Keen-Warren married Marlene’s husband, who was her boss at the time of the murder, years later.
Twenty-seven years after the crime, Keen-Warren was arrested in 2017. She pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
Jury selection was supposed to start this week after the trial was pushed back at least six times.
But prosecutors produced a “clown sighting file” that defense attorneys had been demanding for a long time, according to court documents.
The file featured information on other reported clown sightings around the time of Marlene’s death, according to the report.
It is said to include names and contact information associated with leads about “roughly 40 credible” clown sightings.

The state said that it found the lost file a day after a hearing in which prosecutors said that it was nowhere to be found despite their searches.
The jury trial was canceled on Friday after defense attorneys asked for yet another delay.
The defense has been granted time to look at the newly discovered information about other clown sightings, according to court papers.
“Needless to say this will take the defense considerable time and resources to investigate,” the defense argued.
Keen-Warren’s lawyers also are seeking sanctions against prosecutors for allegedly failing to disclose the evidence.
They want Keen-Warren be allowed pretrial release from jail in addition to financial repayment of $3,347 for out-of-state subpoenas that they claim that they had to file unnecessarily.

The defense is also seeking attorney fees for time spent writing motions asking for discovery material and they want to be allowed to search evidence boxes in the State Attorney’s Office, WPBF reports.
VALUABLE INFORMATION
In a motion filed by her lawyers, the defense argued that no new evidence has been found in the five years since Keen-Warren was arrested.
The defense also argued that the two key pieces of evidence the state has – a fiber from a clown wig and DNA from two hairs in the getaway car – have been found by the defense to not be conclusive.
Keen-Warren’s legal team also claimed that the state kept valuable information from them, including the existence of a possible suspect, Ed Bahr.
An inmate in Maine allegedly told detectives that Bahr confessed to Marlene’s killing and that he was paid $10,000 to carry it out.
The defense claimed that the state re-interviewed Bahr last year, put him in jail and searched his Texas home twice without telling them.
A new hearing is scheduled for Friday morning.
2017 ARREST
Keen-Warren was taken into custody for the crime in 2017 in Abingdon, Virginia.
Cops said at the time that advances in DNA technology, along with evidence gathered decades ago, revealed that Keen-Warren was the killer.
The suspect was an employee of Marlene’s husband, Michael, at his used car lot. The couple later married in 2002.
Describing the killing, Wellington’s first mayor Kathy Foster told Palm Beach Post: “The murder just consumed the community.
“It was very overwhelming to think someone could ring your doorbell and kill you at the front door of your own house.”
Bob Ferrell, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, told the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel newspaper at the time: “This is the strangest thing I’ve seen in all my 19 years in law enforcement.

“As she went to take the flowers and balloons, the clown shot her.
“As far as I know, nothing was said.”
Suspicion first fell on Marlene’s husband Michael because they were having martial problems.
Police learned four months after the shooting that he was having an affair with a Sheila Keen.
Detectives then ruled out the husband but began focusing on Sheila, who reportedly lived near the only costume shop in Palm Beach County selling the same balloons.
Keen-Warren’s lawyer at the time of her arrest said that she “vehemently denies” the killing.
The defense received information about other ‘clown sightings’ reported around the time of Marlene’s murder
