There is no doubt Ohemaa Mercy has been one of Ghana’s topmost gospel musicians since she burst onto the scene in the mid-2000s.
However, to become the greatest she is today, the singer revealed she had to sacrifice her teaching career for her music ministry.

According to Ohemaa Mercy, she had to sacrifice her teaching career for her music ministry.
“The ministry was getting bigger, hectic and I could not risk juggling the two jobs at the same time,” she told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Monday, July 22, 2019.
“I had to pray about [it] and eventually chose the music, I love the ministry a lot,” she added.

Ohemaa Mercy added that she has plans of opening her own school. “I just like seeing children in the classroom.”
Her sacrifice has given the industry great songs like ‘Onim Me’, ‘Aseda’, ‘Oyame Beye’, ‘Adom’ and many others.
