Seeing the skills of cricket, his father got him enrolled in the Cricket Academy where he further improved his bowling skills and started playing matches for domestic and national teams Shrii Lanka based on a fast bowler. Theekshana made his List A debut for Colts Cricket Club on 14 March 2018 against the Galle CC team in the 2017-18 Premier Limited Overs Tournament.
He made his first-class debut for Colts Cricket Club on 7 December 2018 against the Col CC team in the 2018-19 Premier League Tournament. He made his T20 Debut for the Colts Cricket Club on 1 March 2018 against the Lankan CC team.
