Lil Win arrested over fatal accident at Amakom [Video]

Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil win has been arrested by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Police Command.

Accra-based Citi News reported that, the arrest was shortly after he was discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where a police vehicle was stationed.

His arrest is in connection with an accident which led to the death of a three-year-old boy last week Saturday.

Following the development, demands for justice, particularly LilWin’s arrest, escalated from the family of the deceased and some concerned individuals.

Numerous netizens, including notable figures like media personality Ola Michael and socialite Afia Schwarzenegger, had been advocating for Lil Win’s arrest.

However, in some photos that have gone viral, Lil Win was escorted from the hospital ward directly into a police truck stationed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

According to reports, the police cited delays in Lil Win’s arrest due to his health condition.

Although further details have not been provided by the police, Citinewsroom reports that the actor has been taken to the Manhyia Divisional Police Command of the MTTD as investigations into the matter continue.

The accident happened on Saturday morning in the Amakom area of Kumasi, Ashanti region.

According to eyewitnesses, Lil Win was driving at high speed from the Amakom intersection towards the WAEC area when he suddenly veered into the opposite lane.

His vehicle collided head-on with a private family car carrying a father and his four-year-old child. Lil Win and his two passengers also sustained head injuries, and both vehicles were significantly damaged.

The tragic head-on collision sparked outrage and demands for accountability. The family of the deceased has also expressed outrage over Lil Win’s posture and his management’s insensitive treatment following the accident.
