George Santos facts: Politician’s age, husband, kids, parents, siblings and net worth revealed

George Santos is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for New York’s 3rd congressional district from January to December 2023.

A member of the Republican Party, he was elected to Congress in 2022 after running unsuccessfully in 2020. Santos became the first openly LGBT member elected to Congress as a non-incumbent Republican.

He was expelled from Congress on December 1, 2023, the sixth expulsion in the history of the House.

George Santos age-

George Santos is 35 years old as of December 2023. He was born on July 22, 1988, to Fátima Aziza Caruso Horta Devolder and Gercino Antônio dos Santos Jr. (known as Junior), both of whom were born in Brazil.

Santos holds a GED (Certificate of High School Equivalency). He attended Intermediate School (also known as I.S. 125 Thomas J. McCann Woodside Intermediate School) in Woodside, Queens, and Primary School 122 (also known as P.S.122 The Mamie Fay School) in Astoria.

George Santos grew up in the New York City area, later lived in Brazil, and worked in customer service before working at two U.S. investment firms.

In 2021, he founded a company called the Devolder Organization and reported personal earnings of at least $3.5 million during the ensuing two years, but the nature of Devolder’s business, who its clients are, and its sources of revenue are unclear.

George Santos

Santos has made numerous false or dubious claims about his biography, work history, criminal record, financial status, ethnicity, religion, and other matters, both in public and in private.

Six weeks after his election, numerous news outlets reported that large parts of his self-published biography appeared to be fabricated, including claims about his ancestry, education, employment history, charity work, property ownership, and crimes of which he claimed to be a victim.

Santos has admitted to lying about his education and employment history. In 2010, Santos confessed to having committed check fraud in Brazil in 2008, but failed to appear in court in 2011, leaving the case unresolved.

In the wake of his election, Brazilian authorities revived the case in late 2022. Santos later agreed to plead guilty.

Additionally, there have been several judgments against Santos in the United States concerning eviction and personal debt cases.

In 2022, he was accused of failing to pay thousands of dollars in judgments from the 2010s, to which he admitted. In the U.S., theft by deception charges were dropped in 2017, and later expunged.

Two 2023 federal indictments allege 23 fraud-related charges against Santos, to which he has pleaded not guilty. He rejected calls to resign and survived an initial expulsion vote.

After the House Ethics Committee released a report in November implicating Santos in fraud, he announced that he would not run for re-election.

He was expelled from the House of Representatives by a vote of 311–114, exceeding the necessary two-thirds majority, on December 1.

He is the only Republican ever expelled from the House, and the only representative expelled without first being convicted of a federal crime or having supported the Confederate States of America.

George Santos husband-

George Santos

George Santos is openly gay.  He is  husband is a man named Matt, who is a Brazilian pharmacist.

Santos and Matt got married in November 2021, but their marriage was not widely publicized until October 2022, when Santos tweeted about his husband in response to the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein.

In a tweet in response to the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, George wrote, “My husband Matt and I are heart broken by the news of the passing of Senator Feinstein. Sen. Feinstein was a trail blazer who dedicated over 30 years of service to her country. Our condolences to the Feinstein family as they grief this grave loss.”

The part that people freaked about about was “My husband Matt,” who up until this point had hardly if at all been mentioned. One user jokingly asked, “Did George Santos just hard launch his husband … with the passing of Senator Feinstein?”

George took to Twitter again to set the record straight tweeting:

“For those wondering and going nuts, this is Matt my husband since Nov. 2021… I’m not sure where all the ‘hard launch’ comments came from. Or maybe it’s just that people are starting to understand they got played by the media with all the nonsense they wrote about me? Nonetheless, have a fantastic time pretending the media depiction of me is correct. Picture taken Nov. 2022 during new member orientation at Statuary Hall.”

Not much is known about Matt, and his Instagram is kept noticeably private, but the bio does state that he is Brazilian. George also tweeted back on Jan. 2, 2021, that Matt was a pharmacist, although he was fired.

The tweet reads, “My fiancé & I had to leave our home this evening with our 4 dogs thanks to the @nytimes publishing of my Instagram showing me attending the #MarALago New Year’s Eve party. My fiancé a pharmacist who worked 12h/7days shifts for 9 months was fired! The violence against us is real.”

The Advocate looked into this, and wasn’t able to find any pharmacy licenses under Matt’s name. We aren’t saying this tweet was a lie, but George is known to be a liar, and is currently being indicted for 23 different federal charges, so if the shoe fits.
