The photographer passed away over the weekend after a private, three-year battle with ALS, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The statement continued: “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

When Janine Staten was pregnant, he entered rehab for drug addiction, and after completing the rehab he was able to get rid of addiction, but Staten continued with her heroin addiction and died of overdose on January 7, 2004 (some reports state the year as 2007).
Since then, his daughter is with him and reportedly he is a very doting father. In 1990s, he was arrested for DUI and on pleading guilty, served 4 days in the prison and 2 years of probation. He is said to be sober for several years now.
He dated Paris St. John, daughter of soap opera actor Kristoff St. John. Even after their separation, Randall continued helping Mia with her foundation.
