He attended Northwestern University in Illinois, where he graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.
He then studied acting at the Yale School of Drama, where he received his Master of Fine Arts degree in 1962.
He began his career in theater and later appeared in many TV shows and movies, such as “The Boys in the Band”, “All My Children”, “Sisters”, and “Dallas”.
