What to know about the upcoming Ejisu by-election

The Electoral Commission has cleared six candidates to run in the upcoming Ejisu by-election, with Kwabena Boateng of the NPP party taking the number two spot.

Ing. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a former MP running as an independent, will be number four, and Beatrice Boakye of the Liberal Party of Ghana will appear third.

Esther Osei of the Convention People’s Party is listed in the number one spot, while Gabriel Agyemang Joseph and Joseph Attakora, both independents, are designated numbers five and six, respectively.

The election seeks to replace the late incumbent John Kuma, and the largest opposition party, the NDC, failed to fill in a candidate.

Kwabena Owusu Aduomi is expected to give his former party a challenge as an independent candidate. The by-election is scheduled for April 30, 2024.
