Early today, Two award-winning dancehall musicians, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were arraigned in a plea and bail hearing for their actions during the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Shatta Wale is facing a charge of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace while Stonebwoy has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace and display of a firearm in public without permission.

When the two accused persons were asked to enter their plea, both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale pled not guilty to the charges – this means that they are both going to trail to prove their innocence.
The magistrate, Isaac Addo, who presided over the court today also rejected Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s request of self-recognisance bail and decided to set their bail condition at 50,000 cedis each with one surety.
Lawyers Jerry Avenyor and Selali Wonya represented Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy respectively.

The case has been adjourned to June 20, 2019.The two were cautioned to be of good behaviour while the case is ongoing.
It all started when Shatta Wale unexpectedly stormed the VGMA stage with his fans when Stonebwoy was giving his acceptance speech after winning Dancehall artist of the year.
In the midst of the confusion, Stonebwoy pulled a gun live on the stage with thousands of people looking on. He, however, did not fire the gun. They were both arrested on Sunday and granted bail on Monday.
