The Ghana Police Service has officially addressed the rumours surrounding the alleged arrest of broadcaster Serwaa Amihere.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, online speculation about the GHOne journalist’s supposed arrest began to spread, triggering a wave of reactions on social media.

This led many to question what had caused her arrest, with some suggesting it could be a publicity stunt or even part of a music video shoot.

In response to the confusion, the Ghana Police Service issued a press statement clarifying the situation. According to the police, the claims about Serwaa Amihere’s arrest are false.

They confirmed that the image circulating online was not related to any real-life arrest but was from a music video shoot.

“The Ghana Police Service has not arrested Serwaa Amihere. Our investigation indicates that the picture circulating online is from a music video,” the statement read.
