Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif, made a significant impact during the 2024 Tidal Rave held at La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
As one of the standout performers of the night, Black Sherif took a moment during his set to address a critical issue affecting the nation: the illegal mining activities commonly referred to as galamsey.
In a powerful display of activism, Black Sherif paused his performance to rally the audience around the urgent need to end galamsey.

Behind him, a striking video played on a large screen, showcasing the severe environmental damage caused by these practices.
The footage depicted polluted rivers and devastated landscapes, serving as a stark reminder of the consequences of illegal mining.
The video also included clips from a recent anti-galamsey protest, featuring passionate Ghanaians advocating for the protection of their environment.
The powerful visuals culminated in a scene of Independence Square, concluding with the uplifting message, “God Bless Ghana.”

Joining him on stage was Truth Ofori, the 2nd runner-up from Talented Kidz Season 15, who performed the patriotic song “Yɛn ara asase ni.”
Their collaboration emphasized the need for collective action and unity in the fight against galamsey.
The crowd erupted with cheers, showing overwhelming support for the message being conveyed.
