Twene Jonas clashes with elderly man over Akufo-Addo government criticism (Video)

Ghanaian social commentator Twene Jonas found himself at the center of a heated confrontation while live-streaming one of his “Warm Up” sessions on the streets of New York.

The confrontation, which was streamed live saw Jonas clashing with an elderly Ghanaian man who criticized his outspoken views on Ghana’s leadership.

The incident began when the elderly man approached Jonas and voiced his displeasure with Jonas’ frequent and harsh critiques of Ghana’s current administration under President Akufo-Addo.

The man, visibly upset, accused Jonas of being overly disrespectful and abusive in his comments about Ghana’s leaders.

He urged Jonas to temper his criticism and suggested that if he was genuinely interested in fair analysis, he should also critique former President John Mahama, not just focus on Akufo-Addo.

Jonas, not one to back down from a verbal sparring match, fired back with his usual gusto.

He defended his critical style by arguing that it’s crucial to hold the government accountable, especially when things aren’t running smoothly in Ghana.

And as for the accusation that he’s ignoring Mahama, Jonas was quick to point out that he’s taken Mahama to task before too.
