Ghanaian singer Mzbel has shown her deep commitment to cultural heritage by actively participating in the Homowo festival this year.
The festival, a significant annual event for the Ga people, was marked by Mzbel’s involvement in a cherished tradition—the ancestral cleansing ritual.

“My favourite day of the year… River Naa Bale day, Cleansing day, Ancestral Connecting day, Nature Connecting day.”

Draped in a simple white cloth and adorned with symbolic green leaves, Mzbel joined a group of women in the traditional practice of smearing clay on their bodies.
