Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to openly admit their economic failures and apologize to Ghanaians as they prepare for the 2024 General Elections.
Speaking at the launch of the NPP Ablekuma South Constituency election campaign, Agyapong stressed the importance of addressing these issues head-on to rebuild trust and unity within the party.

In his speech, Agyapong said that the NPP must approach the election with humility. He stressed that only by acknowledging the economic difficulties that people have faced can the party hope to convince voters to support them again.
“Let’s go out there with humility, apologize to Ghanaians, and admit your mistakes before you can convince anybody to vote for you,” Agyapong said. “If we ignore the hardships Ghanaians are going through, they will never accept what we are saying.”
Citinewsroom reported that he also said party folk must demonstrate humility as they go out to campaign for the party and urge electorates to give the NPP another chance to correct its wrongs.
He believes that showing accountability is crucial for rebuilding the party’s reputation and regaining public trust.

“You first have to admit that there are hardships,” Agyapong urged. “Let’s give NPP another chance, and I know we have all learned our lessons.” This plea for self-reflection comes as the party looks to address voter concerns and improve their standing in the upcoming elections.
Agyapong also expressed his strong support for Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s candidate for president. He called for party members to unite behind Bawumia to ensure his success. “We are all not going to sit back; we will all support Dr. Bawumia to win,” he declared.
