What Happened

The incident that led to Wyllbee’s death occurred in Abuakwa-Tanoso, Ashanti Region. Wyllbee was reportedly staying at a house owned by Nana Yaa’s husband’s family, who were unaware of his presence.

On July 5, 2024, Wyllbee was seen urinating in the compound of the residence. Neighbors, who suspected him of theft, confronted him.

Wyllbee claimed he was visiting Nana Yaa, but she allegedly denied knowing him to protect her marriage from her in-laws.

This denial led to increased suspicion and accusations of theft among the locals. The situation escalated, and Wyllbee was lynched. Reports also indicate that his phone was destroyed with a stone during the attack.
Next Steps

Tuesday’s court session ended with Nana Yaa being denied bail. The case has been postponed to August 11, 2024, to allow more time for investigation and to gather evidence.
