Byard tweeted on November 22, 2015, that he had accepted his invitation to participate in the 2016 Senior Bowl. He made an impression during the Senior Bowl practice week by showcasing his ball-hawking and athletic prowess.
During the week, Byard visited with Atlanta Falcons executives. The 60 defensive backs invited to the NFL combine did not include Byard. Along with 18 other teammates, he attended Middle Tennessee’s pro day on March 31, 2016.
