Spanish professional tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia was born on May 5th, 2003 in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain.
Alcaraz was born to Carlos Alcaraz González and Virginia Garfia Escandón. He shares the same parents with his three siblings.
In the Real Sociedad Club de Campo de Murcia, where his father oversaw the tennis academy, he first took up the sport.
He started participating in sports at Juan Carlos Ferrero’s Equelite JC Ferrero Sports Academy in 2018.

According to the Organization of Tennis Professionals, Alcaraz is presently rated as the top male singles player in the world (ATP).
Alcaraz has won three Masters 1000 championships and the US Open in 2022 among his eight ATP Tour singles victories.
Alcaraz won the US Open, becoming him the first teenager to hold the top spot in the men’s rankings during the Open Era at the age of 19 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
Alcaraz had a high world ranking of 22 as a youngster while also winning two championships on the ITF Junior Circuit. After becoming a pro in 2018, he won four ATP Challenger Tour championships and three ITF Men’s World Tennis Circuit titles before breaking into the top 100 in May 2021.
Alcaraz won his maiden championship at the ATP 250 event in Croatia two months after making it to his first ATP Tour final.
He then broke into the top 50 after making it to the next US Open quarterfinals and winning the Milan Next Generation ATP Finals at the end of 2021.
Alcaraz entered the top 10 in 2022 after winning his first ATP 500 championship at the Rio Open in February. He then won his first Masters 1000 title at the Miami Open and his second ATP 500 trophy at the Barcelona Open in April.
