Former captain of the senior national men’s football team, Stephen Appiah, on Thursday, March 17, released a statement to deny having affair with Abena Korkor.
This follows social media post supposedly made by Abena Korkor that referenced Stephen Appiah and colleague footballer Asamoah Gyan as part of the long list of men she has laid down with.

The said post, which has since gone viral, is said to have been made by Abena Korkor on Twitter before her account was taken down.
However, reacting to this, Appiah said the contents of the publication are false, insisting he has never had an amorous relationship with Abena Korkor.
The Betway brand ambassador said, “I have never encountered the said author in any special way other than at a few open and pubic events where she sought my permission to take pictures with me.”

Stephen Appiah added, “I am constrained to respond to this needless provocation because that false and offensive narrative strikes at the very core of my hard-won reputation, both at home and abroad.”
He entreated his family, friends and well-wishers to “disregard the offensive and provocative publications and treat it with the contempt it deserves.”
