Bishop Salifu Amoako Faces Court Over Son’s Fatal Accident, Pleads ‘Not Guilty

Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, is facing serious legal charges following a tragic road accident involving his 16-year-old son, Elrad Salifu Amoako.

Along with his wife, Mouha Amoako, and another individual, Linda Bonsu Bempah, the Bishop has been charged with “permitting an unlicensed person to drive” in connection with the fatal crash.

The accident occurred on October 12, 2024, in the East Legon area of Accra. Elrad, while driving a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20), collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23) driven by Joseph Ackah.

The crash tragically claimed the lives of two 12-year-olds, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh. Several others were critically injured in the accident.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the three individuals appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to reports from GHOne TV, the hearing was marked by high tensions, with some of Bishop Amoako’s supporters reportedly involved in altercations with police officers and a journalist outside the courtroom.

The police confirmed the arrests of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, on Tuesday, October 15. The charges against them stem from their alleged role in permitting their son to drive without a license at the time of the crash.

The police have promised a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident, and the public has been assured that all necessary steps will be taken as the legal process unfolds.
