A devastating accident occurred in East Legon on Saturday, October 12, 2024, resulting in the tragic deaths of two women and leaving three others critically injured.
The incident has drawn significant attention, especially after CCTV footage emerged, capturing the harrowing moments leading up to the crash.
In the footage, a vehicle can be seen speeding towards a junction on a busy main road.

The driver appeared to lose control, crashing into another vehicle moving ahead. The impact of the collision was intense, leading to widespread destruction of both cars involved.
The two women who lost their lives were identified as passengers in an Artura vehicle.
Among the other injured are the drivers of a Jaguar and another Artura, who are currently hospitalized and battling for their lives.
Assistant Division Officer (ADO) Alex King Nartey from the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed the incident in an interview with Adom FM.

He stated that preliminary investigations indicated the accident was caused by over speeding.
ADO Nartey also mentioned that one of the vehicles struck a wooden electric pole, causing cables to fall and igniting a fire at the scene.
