Rev. Isaac Obofour, the founder of Anointed Palace Chapel, has strongly denied claims that he and other pastors met with presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama for personal gain.
His comments come in response to broadcaster Okatakyie Afrifa, who suggested that their meeting was motivated by a desire for advantages if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) returns to power.
During a recent segment on Angel FM, Afrifa stated, “The end goal of these pastors meeting with NDC’s Mahama is to secure benefits when the party attains power.

Rev. Obofour is an astute businessman; do you think that after everything, when the NDC comes to power, he won’t benefit from it? A chunk of pastors are involved in the galamsey business.
Their aim is that, when there is a change in government, the concession will be moved to their side. If Sam Korankye-Ankrah, Agyinasare, and others are following the NDC, it is because of the benefits.”
In response to these allegations, Rev. Obofour expressed his frustration, stating, “I’m upset that I was included in the group of pastors supposedly seeking personal interests. I didn’t go there out of desperation for food or shelter; we went there for Ghana.”
Furthermore, Rev. Obofour emphasized that he does not align himself with any political party. He added, “If any party calls on me, I’ll make myself available.”
