Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has stirred up conversations online by calling on Ghanaians to apologize to former president John Dramani Mahama.
In a trending social media video, Shatta Wale took aim at the public for their dissatisfaction with the current government, asserting that Mahama deserves recognition for his past contributions.
In his video, Shatta Wale expressed, “You knew who Mahama was, but you did not give him a chance to do whatever. You said you wanted Akufo-Addo, and we all accepted. Now you’re complaining because you’re going through tough times. Go and beg Mahama. All of you have to go and beg Mahama. I benefitted from a lot of things when he was in power.”

He highlighted that Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim, had strong ties with Ghanaian musicians, emphasizing the respect and support they showed during Mahama’s tenure. Shatta Wale contrasted this with what he perceives as a lack of support from the current government for artists.
The SM Boss, who recently dropped his album SAFA, also pointed out that some individuals are exploiting the frustrations of young people, encouraging them to engage in online campaigns against certain politicians.
