“Many of the youth were unconcerned, kept silent, and accused me of being jealous of my colleagues whenever I criticized stakeholders in the entertainment industry,” he remarked.
Shatta Wale pointed out that the youth have been misled by individuals who prioritize their own selfish interests over the betterment of the country.
He made it clear that he does not want to be involved in the ongoing social media advocacy campaign, asserting that he is untouchable in the entertainment industry due to his outspoken nature.
He also criticized the protestors, suggesting they did not take their protests seriously. Shatta Wale emphasized that he has his own approach to addressing issues and does not need to conform to what others expect from him.

Background
The #OccupyJulorbiHouse protestors were arrested during their demonstration over the weekend. This followed a three-day protest at the 37 Military Roundabout, where participants raised concerns about illegal small-scale mining (known as galamsey) and economic mismanagement.
Tensions escalated on Sunday, September 22, when a major confrontation occurred between the Democracy Hub protestors and the Ghana Police Service, marking the second day of the demonstrations.
The arrested protestors have been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court, facing five charges: conspiracy to commit crime, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, offensive conduct, breach of public peace, and assault on public officers. They pleaded not guilty to all charges and are scheduled to reappear in court on October 8, 2024.
