Ghanaian socialite Efia Odo has just dropped a jaw-dropping tale of a date gone spectacularly wrong in the United States.
In a recent episode of the ‘Rants and Bants’ podcast, Efia shared how a romantic outing turned into a full-blown police chase—and the story is as wild as it sounds!
Efia, who was just 17 at the time, was excited for a day out when her date decided to spice things up by running a red light. As you might guess, that move didn’t sit well with the local police.

“I was on this date, right? And my date decides to blow through a red light,” Efia recalled. “Next thing I know, we’re being chased by the cops!”
“I asked him, ‘Why don’t you stop?’ And he goes, ‘This car isn’t mine. I stole it!’” she laughed, recalling her disbelief.
Her date eventually ditched the car and left Efia behind. The police caught up with him and took both of them to the police station.
“At the station, they showed me his record. He was wanted for attempted murder, armed robbery—you name it. And then they put me in a cell!” she said.

Not wanting to face her mom’s wrath, Efia turned to her uncle for help. “I called my uncle from the cell and begged him not to tell my mom. But guess what? He called her anyway,” she said.
“My mom came and slapped me in front of the police officers. She really gave me a beating,” Efia recalled.
Despite the chaos, Efia wasn’t done yet. She kept visiting her date in jail, even bringing him socks and other goodies.
