Ghanaian dancehall sensation Shatta Wale is making waves on social media after a video of him expressing frustration over the faulty streetlights in Accra went viral.
In the video, Shatta Wale is seen driving on a dark, poorly lit street on his way to the Kotoka International Airport.
His irritation is clear as he highlights the lack of functional streetlights, which he believes are crucial for ensuring safety on the city’s roads at night.

Shatta Wale didn’t hold back in his criticism. He called out the politicians, accusing them of failing to live up to their promises.
“See Accra. There are no lights in this whole place. People will tell you they have leaders. The leaders will come and make promises, but because the majority of us do not know God, we just sit there and follow them. We are in a darkness country. There are no working streetlights in Accra,” Shatta Wale declared.
He was clearly frustrated, comparing the situation in Accra to a village and pointing out how the malfunctioning streetlights make driving at night particularly hazardous. His comments struck a chord with many, sparking a range of reactions on social media.
Many of Shatta Wale’s followers are totally vibing with his rant. They’re cheering him on for shining a spotlight on a serious issue and giving politicians a piece of his mind. They agree that it’s high time someone spoke up about the city’s dimly lit roads.

But, as always, the internet has its critics. Some folks are throwing shade, questioning if Shatta Wale’s vocal complaints match his own contributions to the country’s development.
They’re asking if he should be more focused on solutions rather than just turning up the volume on his frustrations.
