The Nkoranza Traditional Council has officially addressed recent reports suggesting that it invoked curses against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
According to the council, these allegations are completely false and do not reflect their true practices or values.
The controversy began when rumors spread that the chief of Doromakese, in Nkoranza North of the Bono East region, had placed a curse on Mahama and the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Joseph Mensah.

These rumors claimed that Mahama had disrespected the traditional authorities by failing to make a promised visit.
In response, it was alleged that the council had banned NDC campaign activities in Doromakese and invoked supernatural forces to punish anyone supporting Mahama and Mensah.
In a statement released on Wednesday, September 4, the Nkoranza Traditional Council firmly rejected these claims. They described the reports as misleading and contrary to their established customs.
