Dada KD under fire for his comment about Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s dress code

Highlife musician Dada Kwaku Duah, widely known as Dada KD, is facing criticism following his comments about Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s dress code.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), recently shared pictures on social media from her campaign tour.

In one photo, she is seen wearing a patterned, loose-fitting dress with beige and brown geometric designs. She is holding the hand of a younger woman, who is likely an NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area.

Dada KD, a highlife musician and passionate New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter shared this image on his Facebook page along with a disparaging comment.

He wrote: “So can’t they do something about grandma’s dressing code? Ei! Let me pass and go eh! They’ll definitely come after me with insults but trust that we have become accustomed to their daily insults.”

The comment quickly drew backlash from social media users, particularly those who support the NDC. Many criticized Dada KD for his remarks, questioning whether his political allegiance had clouded his judgment.

Eselali Frenzy wasn’t having any of it. She posted a photo of Dada KD’s late mother, saying: “This is your mum, ..Is she not grandma? Are you out your brain or bcs of 20gh they gave you, you can’t think like human being again…”

Martin Awortwe felt torn between admiration and disappointment: “Dada Kwaku Duah Senior man I dey respect you too much. Please can you pull this post down 🙏. Your songs motivate me to be who I am today. Fathia Fata Nkrumah will remain my biggest song in this world I’m leaving. Please pull it down. I’m Soo sad about how they are trolling you here.”

Nana Oppong Kesse didn’t mince words: “A legend u are thinks like a fool.”

Elvis Doe suggested a more constructive approach: “Dress code is not a consideration for voting but in the meantime can you post the CV and picture of your biological mother here for us to compare.”

Snr Mampam Gh had some advice for Dada KD: “What you guys should be worried about is Napo’s comments. Dressing don’t win election but stupid comments can have impact on your vote. Thank you.”

Anokyewaaba Serwaa reminded everyone of the bigger picture: “At her age, you don’t expect her to dress like Samira. Maturity is knowing what’s best for you and doing it sir.”

Caleb Nii Boye had a playful jab: “Senior man, so make she wear skin tight or show your breast? Let’s elevate from this style oo.”
