Father of O’Reilly SHS student finally breaks silence on son’s death (Video)

The father of Edward Borketey Sackey, the O’Reilly Senior High School student who was fatally stabbed, has opened up about the heartbreaking events surrounding his son’s death.

In an emotional interview with 3News, he recounted the dreadful day. “On September 2, I saw my son off to school and then went to work. Later, my niece called me, saying Edward was having a fight with another student and that I should come,” he explained.

He was shocked to learn that the teachers were not intervening, despite the serious situation. He said he was told the teachers were just sitting there, unconcerned.

As he rushed to the school, he received another distressing call informing him that Edward had been stabbed and was lying on the school grounds. Soon after, he was told to meet them at the LEKMA hospital.

By the time he arrived at the hospital, it was too late. “The doctor told me Edward had passed away. When I saw his body, I saw that he had been stabbed three times in his chest,” he said.

The grieving father expressed his frustration with the school authorities and the police, stating that neither had reached out to him.

“The school has not said anything since yesterday, and the police haven’t called either. The family of the boy who killed my son hasn’t contacted me either. We are here to seek justice for my son,” he lamented.

He is calling for answers from the school authorities, questioning whether the teachers were present during the incident. The situation has been made worse by the presence of police officers blocking the school gates, adding to his frustration.

“They have brought police officers to block every gate, stopping us from going in… So that is why we are here,” he said.
