Wode Maya, known for his insightful coverage of African issues, met with these nurses as they prepared to leave Ghana.

In their brief exchange, the nurses voiced their frustration and disappointment with the current state of affairs in Ghana.

They pointed to the economic instability, lack of job placements, and inadequate support from the government as key reasons for their decision to relocate.

One nurse succinctly expressed the sentiment of the group: “We are moving to London forever and ever. Ghana has collapsed. The president has failed to assign us to any facilities after school. We have not been assigned for four years now.”

The YouTuber briefly shared his thoughts about the development, “I believe the government needs to take action because this is brain drain.”

In response, one of the nurses said, “I’m certain the healthcare system in Ghana is on the verge of collapse in the next five years.”
